The second bi-annual Haw River Tango Marathon will take place between December 29 and 31, 2017 in the magical rural setting of Saxapahaw, North Carolina. Just a stone's throw from Chapel Hill, Durham and Raleigh, and situated within the greater North Carolina Piedmont region, the former mill-town of Saxapahaw has become home to a southern Renaissance of music, art and local farming and food. Even the New York Times has taken notice of Saxapahaw in recent years. Learn more about the village at

The Haw River Tango Marathon will be hosted within the historic and beautifully refurbished Haw River Ballroom, which sits on the banks of the Haw River. Within walking distance, guests will find a cozy English-style pub, a bakery, a local butchery, a brewery with a tasting room, a general store, a café and beautiful trails along the Haw River for walking and relaxation.

The Marathon will feature five DJs from up and down the east coast and Canada, with catering provided by several local award winning businesses.

As a special treat this year: we are teaming up with local tango queen, Jae Youn to offer her legendary Utopia New Years Eve Milonga in downtown Durham on Sunday December 31st as part of the package! On Sunday night we will move the party to an amazing venue right in downtown Durham, where the city pulse is going at Living Arts CollectiveMany thanks to LAC and the Haw River Ballroom for their generous support.

All of this in one single pass!
